The worst part of a wet walk is not the walk. It is the hallway afterwards, with a soaking dog, a shedding shake, and a towel that ends up on the floor. A dog drying robe wraps around your dog and fastens, so it keeps working while you take your coat off.

Why microfibre

Microfibre holds several times its own weight in water, which is why it pulls a coat from dripping to damp in a couple of minutes. An ordinary cotton towel mostly pushes water around. This one is thick enough for a double coat and still light enough to wring out and hang up.

How to use it

Wrap the robe over your dog’s back, bring it under the chest and fasten. Give a firm rub along the back and legs, then leave it on for five minutes while your dog settles. Take it off before it goes damp and cold.

Which size

Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail and pick the nearest length. Between sizes, go up — a robe that is slightly long still works, one that is short will not cover the chest.

Most dogs need a couple of short sessions to accept a new grooming tool. Keep it brief, reward often, and stop before your dog gets fed up — a calm two minutes beats a stressful ten.
